Three Sweet Sisters.

Black and white portraits can be, not always of course, the strongest way of creating a portrait that is so compelling for views of it to admire and appreciate for many decades.

What is so great these days is that with a click of a button we can see if changing a color image to black and white is something we want to do. I tell my clients that ‘the portrait will tell us.’ What I mean by that is when we see it we will know right away if we like black and white better or if we prefer the color version.

When I prepare the image to be printed by the professional lab I use–I add a mix of red and yellow to give the portrait my own preferred look to it; a little bit like the old style look from the past. Remember portraits create memories and increase in sentimental value as time marches on.
