Black Dog and White Dog.There is a challenge with digital photography and photographing a black dog and a white dog together in a portrait. That challenge is to have the correct camera setting so both the dog with the black coat and the dog with the white coat are able to be reproduced correctly.
The solution is to set the camera for correct exposure on the white dog and let the black dog reproduce darker than normal. If the camera exposure is set for the black dog the white dog will be overexposed and reproduce much whiter than it is in real life and that it will be a failed portrait.
So the key is a special post production technique that lets me lighten the black in a manner just right so there is detail like you see in this portrait.
