It is not uncommon for dogs to have a favorite toy. Sometimes clients like to bring those toys so we can include them in a portrait. Of course, I take all kinds of different poses without the toy and I usually include the toy at the end of the session. Many times these type of portraits are among the most favorite ones from the portrait session.

It is true that the toy might be played with or moved around during the portraits. With the proud pet parent helping out–he or she can just move it back into place according to my quick directions.

These type of portraits are a lot of fun to create and knowing the proud pet parent will love them is a bonus.
