Family portraits in the park are always a pleasure to create especially in November when the weather happened to be in the 50 degree range.

It was true that there were no leaves on the trees and the landscape was a little barren, but the soft overcast lighting and and the logs that were piled nicely which made an excellent prop for the family to sit in a flattering pose.

I used my usual array of noisemakers to get and keep the dogs attention while giving subtle directions to the family to improve the pose while taking a series of images before the dogs were done with posing for the portraits.

Overcast, diffused lighting lighting with a small amount of electronic flash put the finishing touch on this portrait in the park which BTW I have been using for more than 25 years and where I have taken hundreds of portrait sessions.

A handsome family looking sharp for their portrait.
